Ladybirds, butterflies, beetles and bees — join printmaker Hayley (from Jackdaw And Bear) for a summer session all about the small creatures we spot in the garden and beyond. Children will design and build their very own bug, inspired by real life or straight from their imagination, then bring it to life with ink and rollers to print a one-of-a-kind creation to take home and treasure.
Expect a fun, hands-on (and happily messy!) introduction to printmaking — no sharp tools involved, just texture, colour and imagination. Perfect for all ages from 3 years up: little fingers are welcome with a bit of adult help, while older children can push their designs further.
All children must be accompanied by an adult, supervised and aided if required. We may use scissors so young children will need their guardian to assist them. Be prepared to get a little inky. All materials supplied. Please ensure participants are wearing clothes that you don't mind getting a little mucky. Messy aprons are available to borrow during the session.
Parents/guardians of children are required to stay in the Craftship. Please note seats are only allocated to ticketed workshop attendees (so you may have to stand behind your child if the seating is taken)
Tuesday 25th August 2-3pm
