Join the team to make and decorate your own lantern from willow, tape, tissue paper & PVA glue. Then, we’ll keep it safe to dry out so it’s ready for the big procession on Saturday 21st Nov where you can come and collect it from us and hold your very own lantern in the parade.

Carnival of the Baubles Clubs day of sessions.
The clubs sessions are priced at £120 per sessions for up to 20 participants which is the equivalent of £6 per participant. This fee is still partly subsidised. Some club leaders/parents will need to stay to help some children build their lantern.

Our workshop venue is upstairs in County Square, in the old H&M unit which is next to Next & New Look by the escalators.

These sessions are club/group only session with a max of 20 lantern makers plus some parent/guardian helpers too. These sessions will last approximately one and a 3/4 hours. We will hold 3 sessions on the clubs day. Please be punctual to arrive and finish the session.

Clubs take responsibility for the children they are bringing and additional grown ups must be present at the sessions.

We will be using willow, tissue paper, scissors, masking tape, pva glue and sugar paper.

The parade route will start Lower High Street (mustering on East Hill), moving through Ashford High Street and Bank Street, then ending in Elwick Place where there will be a big finale!

Carnival of the Baubles is an event brought to the town by Ashford Borough Council, Love Ashford, Emergency Exit Arts and Craftship Enterprise CIC (Made in Ashford).
