Whether you're on a budget or not we've got six top ideas for you and your family to enjoy in Ashford, Kent this summer for free. 

 

Saturday Afternoon crafts 

Every Saturday afternoon throughout the Summer holidays we will be hosting FREE crafts for all age children at The Craftship in park Mall. These FREE creative craft sessions are run by artist Elaine, each week there is a different activity to get involved with. These FREE workshops are for all members of the family, so don't forget to book a space for everyone.

The Fabric of Ashford 

‘The Fabric Of Ashford: The Place That Makes Us’ is a series of FREE events taking place  throughout Ashford over the Summer months.

If you'd like to join in with a FREE creative workshop using black and white images of Ashford, join us on Saturday 6th August at The Craftship. To book this workshop click here.

Still to come is the finale event that will be held in the town centre at The Bandstand, there will be Market Stalls, FREE creative workshops, Flora the Giant, unveiling of the collective art piece ‘Ashford Tapestery’ and an Ashford Tale.  This is taking place on Saturday 20th August from 11am - 5pm.

Sk8side 

Sk8side is a Youth Centre located next to a skate park, they provide a FREE service for young people using the skate park.  Youth workers engage with the young people teaching them the fundamentals of social responsibility. Their goal is to nurture and empower young people into adulthood.

Ashford Museum 

If you’d like to learn more about the history of Ashford visit this FREE Museum in the town Centre, located in the Church Yard. Ashford Museum is located inside a 17th Century Grade II listed building that was once used as a boys grammar school.

Singleton Environmental Centre 

Singleton Environmental Centre is a voluntary organisation seeking to be completely sustainable. You can go there and explore the beautiful grounds for FREE and follow the nature trail,  or join in with one of the many FREE open days they have over the Summer Months. Every Wednesday throughout August they will be holding activities and events for children, some may incur a small charge.

Victoria Park 

Explore Ashford’s largest and most central park Victoria Park. Walk round the park and take a picnic, see the historic Hubert Fountain listed Grade II, a French mid-19th Century design that has been in the Park since 1911.
