Meet The Maker - Danielle from Tinybeegle

Tinybeegle at Made In Ashford Danielle

We asked Danielle some questions about her work and time at Made In Ashford and The Craftship.

As well as selling your items in Made In Ashford, what else do you do as Tinybeegle?

I’m an illustrator and graphic designer, so I make and design things. I design logos and branding for other companies and independent people, as well as freelance illustration.

What are your favourite things that you have worked on?

I really enjoyed Carnival of the Baubles, working with Emergency Exit Arts and the work I've done with Ashford Borough Council. We did a really fun art project collaboration with The Craftship and Kent Mining Museum making bunting, that was a great day.

What are you most proud of since being a part of Made In Ashford?

I'm most proud of how we’ve grown from a shop to being our own little arts company. The Craftship place over the road from Made in Ashford is amazing and I’m really proud to have worked on all the branding and signage. I'm really proud of that!

You also do the wooden cut out designs for our window display. What has been your favourite one of those?

I think my favourite one of those has been the woodland ones, that was a great shop display and we filled the windows with wooden logs and toadstools.

What's your favourite product that you make?

My favourite product in Made in Ashford is probably the knotted headbands, as that’s my own fabric designs and I really like them.

You’ve got a very distinct style, could you describe it?

My style is illustrative, with a graphic cartoon style. My drawings are inspired by American tattoo artist Sailor Jerry and Georges Prosper Remi the illustrator for Tin tin. I'm going for a  vintage retro feel with my work and I hope I've achieved it.
